Every Dollar You Give Gets DOUBLED.

The total cost of the new playground is $170,000. Generous donors have committed to matching every community dollar raised — up to $85,000. Once our community raises $85,000, the playground is fully funded and will be installed by the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Why It Matters

A Playground Isn't a Luxury — It's a Necessity.

The current playground equipment has reached the end of its safe life. Sections have been blocked off with orange safety fencing — meaning our kids are already losing access to the space they rely on every single day. This isn't a wish list. It's an urgent need.

At Freedom Elementary, the playground isn't just for recess. It's in use throughout the entire school day — during structured PE, movement breaks, lunch, and afternoon recess. This is one of the most-used pieces of infrastructure our school has. Our kids deserve a space that's safe, engaging, and built to inspire the kind of active, joyful play that childhood is made of.

Research consistently shows that physical activity is critical to children's cognitive development, emotional regulation, and long-term health. Kids who move more learn more. They focus better, behave better, and feel better.

A Community Asset for Everyone

This playground isn't just for students. When the school day ends, it opens to the entire community. Neighbors, families, and kids of all ages are welcome to use it before and after school hours, as well as in the summer — making this an investment in the whole Freedom community, not just the school.

🏫

In Use All Day Long

This playground gets used from the first bell to the last — PE classes, movement breaks, lunch recess, and everything in between. It's not sitting idle. It's one of the hardest-working spaces in the entire school.

🌳

Open to the Community

Community members are welcome to use the playground outside of school hours — and all summer long when school is out. Your donation builds something the entire neighborhood can enjoy year-round.

Accessibility Matters

We're committed to making this playground welcoming for every child. The playground will include accessible pathways so all kids can play side by side.

🏃

Movement Fuels Learning

Active kids are better learners. Regular movement improves focus, reduces stress, and supports emotional wellbeing — benefits that carry directly into the classroom every single day.
